The Latin American Delirium Symposium is an event designed by a group of researchers from different nationalities interested in promoting and disseminating knowledge about delirium in Latin America.

Held on the World Delirium Awareness Day, this symposium will be an opportunity for health professionals to learn more about the topic and apply the knowledge in their daily practice.

Geriatrician, Supervisor of Clinical Research at HCFMUSP Division of Geriatrics. Associate Professor of Geriatric Medicine at FMUSP. Professor of Internal Medicine of the Israeli Faculty of Health Sciences Albert Einstein. Coordinator of the Delirium research group at HCFMUSP. Coordinator of the Brazilian Intervention Group Against Delirium (BRIGADE).
PATRICIA MESA
Latin American Delirium Interest Group (coordinator)
Intensive care physician, coordinator of the Intensive Care Unit of the Pasteur Hospital in Montevideo, Uruguay. Author of several successful works in delirium, such as "Agitation and delirium in the ICU," which was awarded 1st place in the Uruguayan Congress of Intensive Care in 2015, and "Delirium in the ICU: A Prospective Cohort in Mechanically Ventilated Patients" which became the first article published on delirium of Uruguay and won the best poster award at the 2017 American Delirium Society Conference in 2017. Coordinator of the Latin American Delirium Interest Group,a chapter of the American Delirium Society.

Geriatrician, collaborates at the Advanced Cognitive Impairment outpatient clinic at HCFMUSP Division of Geriatrics. Coordinator of the Brazilian Intervention Group Against Delirium (BRIGADE). Member of the Geriatrics team at Sirio Libanês Hospital. Doctoral student in Health Sciences, Experimental Pathophysiology Department of FMUSP.
ROBERTA CASTRO
Latin American Delirium Interest Group (coordinator)
Physician at the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)of the Pedro Ernesto University Hospital (HUPE) of the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) and the PICUof the Hospital Vitória (Americas Medical City) in Rio de Janeiro. PhD in Medicine from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). Member of the American Delirium Society (ADS). Coordinator of the Latin American Delirium Special Interest Group, chapter of the American Delirium Society in Latin America
